Mariana Stefanova
Marse
Mariana Stefanova (b. 1962), known by her stage name Marse, is a visual artist based in Bansko. Her creative spark ignited intuitively and unexpectedly – at a moment she herself defines as “when it was meant to happen”. Since then, art has become a natural way of expressing her inner world.
Mariana works primarily with acrylic and oil, often incorporating recycled materials into her works. Her works are characterized by an intuitive, abstract and emotional character, seeking the unconventional, the invisible and the beyond-form.
At the center of her research are harmony, color, and emotion as the primary carriers of meaning.
She has presented her works in Bansko, Blagoevgrad, Sofia, Svilengrad, Stara Zagora, as well as in London, Genoa, Milan and Rome.
She participated in a plein air class in Stara Zagora and holds a master's certificate.
