Assen's creative path is strongly influenced by his family background - his father is also an artist. Although largely self-taught, he developed his style through practice and participation in various art projects.

He has participated in local initiatives in Bansko and has realized numerous commissioned projects for hotels, public spaces, restaurants, salons and children's spaces. In his work, he often explores the mystical, the spiritual and the search for balance between man, nature and life.
